There are no "set in concrete" rules for Structured Settlement Claims. Although we prefer to recommend their use only where they are truly cost effective, your imagination is really the limit of application. The following are guidelines that may be used in considering a Structured Settlement.
- A present lump sum value of at least
$50,000.
- Long term income and medical needs because of
permanent injury.
- The claimant may lack the necessary expertise
to properly manage a lump sum award.
- The claimant must have received a personal physical injury or physical sickness caused by a tort.
